Pokemon Go Japanese Notification and What it Means

Did you receive a Japanese notification on your Pokemon Go? Well, it’s strange if you didn’t, because 99% of the players got one and it’s so confusing. Why am I getting a notification on a language that I don’t know?!

It’s too early for April Fool’s Day, but at Niantic, every day is a day of jokes. First the Gym bugs, then the Pokemon encounter glitches, errors with stats, losing Giratina after powering up..simply every day is a bug day.

Today, a lot of Pokemon Go players (pretty much everyone) received two notifications, one on English and the second one on Japanese.

English notification – “Professor Willow needs your help! Strange things are happening…New Special Research is out now!”

Japanese notification on language a.k.a Japanese Kanji. It is similar to the alphabet, but sounds are used more often. Basically, a sound makes up the word (see the image below).

The Japanese notification translate – “Limited Special Research has appeared! Dr. Willow’s laboratory seems to have some strange phenomena.”

Our Verdict – Strange things are happening in Niantic lately and someone has been pressing the wrong buttons for quite some time now. It’s really concerning that Niantic is not communicating on these errors. We definitely need a new update that will fix these errors and I hope to see it very soon.
